Safety information

Please read these safety instructions and the operation instructions provided in this booklet before using the BlackBerry?? HS-655+ Wireless Headset. Retain these instructions for future use.

Electrical Safety

The BlackBerry HS-655+ Wireless Headset should be charged only from the type of power source indicated in the operation instructions. Route all cables so that they are not likely to be walked on, tripped over or pinched by items placed upon or against them. Pay particular attention to the point where the power cable plugs in to the BlackBerry HS-655+ Wireless Headset charging pocket. Do not overload power outlets, extension cords, or integral convenience receptacles as this can result in a risk of fire or electric shock. To reduce the risk of damage to the cord or the plug, pull by the plug rather than the cord when you disconnect the BlackBerry HS-655+ Wireless Headset charging pocket from the power source.

Never push objects of any kind through openings in the BlackBerry HS-655+ Wireless Headset or charging pocket as they might short-out parts and could result in a fire or electric shock. Never spill liquid of any kind on the BlackBerry HS-655+ Wireless Headset or charging pocket. Do not use the BlackBerry HS-655+ Wireless Headset or charging pocket near water (for example near a bathtub, or a sink, in a wet basement, near a swimming pool, etc.). Whether in use or not, the BlackBerry HS-655 + Wireless Headset and charging pocket should be situated away from heat sources, such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, flames, lit candles, cigarettes, or other products (including amplifiers) that produce heat.

Care

Unplug the BlackBerry HS-655+ Wireless Headset charging pocket from the power outlet before cleaning. Do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners. Rather, use a dry cloth to clean the unit. Unplug the BlackBerry HS-655+ Wireless Headset charging pocket during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time.

CAUTION: To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not expose the BlackBerry HS-655+ Wireless Headset or charging pocket to water, rain, or other moisture.

Service

Disconnect the USB cable from the BlackBerry HS-655+ Wireless Headset charging pocket and from the power outlet. Refer the BlackBerry device, BlackBerry HS-655+ Wireless Headset, and any accessories for service to qualified service personnel if any of the following situations occur:

???The power cable or plug, USB cable or plug, any of the BlackBerry HS-655 + Wireless Headset connectors are damaged.

???Liquid has been spilled on the BlackBerry HS-655+ Wireless Headset or charging pocket.

???The BlackBerry HS-655+ Wireless Headset or charging pocket has been exposed to rain or water.

???The BlackBerry HS-655+ Wireless Headset or charging pocket becomes very hot to the touch.

???The BlackBerry HS-655+ Wireless Headset or charging pocket has been dropped or damaged in any way.

???The BlackBerry HS-655+ Wireless Headset or charging pocket does not operate normally, and you followed the instructions contained in this booklet.

???The BlackBerry HS-655+ Wireless Headset or charging pocket exhibits a distinct change in performance.

Use the BlackBerry HS-655+ Wireless Headset in accordance with the directions provided in this booklet. Improper use might result in damage and will potentially require extensive work by a qualified technician to restore the BlackBerry HS-655+ Wireless Headset to its normal operation. Do not attempt to disassemble the BlackBerry HS-655+ Wireless Headset or charging pocket.

For information on qualified service personnel in your area, please contact your wireless service provider or BlackBerry reseller.

CAUTION: Failure to observe all these instructions will void the Limited Warranty, and might lead to suspension or denial of services to the offender, or legal action, or both.

About the BlackBerry HS-655+ Wireless

Headset

The BlackBerry?? HS-655+ Wireless Headset is designed to enable hands-free calling using your BlackBerry device. The BlackBerry HS-655+ Wireless Headset enables you to answer and end a call, ignore an incoming call, adjust the listening volume and mute the microphone during a call. If your BlackBerry device supports voice dialing, you can use the BlackBerry HS-655+ Wireless Headset to make calls using voice commands.

The BlackBerry HS-655+ Wireless Headset is designed to use 128 bit encryption when you pair it with a BlackBerry device running BlackBerry Device Software Version 4.2 or later.

The BlackBerry HS-655+ Wireless Headset is designed to be compatible with BlackBerry charging accessories, including BlackBerry travel chargers, BlackBerry automotive chargers, and the BlackBerry Power Station.

Charging the BlackBerry HS-655+ Wireless

Headset

Note: You must charge the BlackBerry?? HS-655+ Wireless Headset before you can use it.

Charge the BlackBerry HS-655+ Wireless Headset using a BlackBerry USB cable

1.Place the BlackBerry?? HS-655+ Wireless Headset in its charging pocket.

2.Connect the smaller end of the USB cable to the base of the charging pocket.

3.Connect the larger end of the USB cable to the USB port on your computer.

Charge the BlackBerry HS-655+ Wireless Headset using a travel charger

1.Place the BlackBerry?? HS-655+ Wireless Headset in its charging pocket.

2.Connect the smaller end of the USB cable to the base of the charging pocket.

3.Depending on the type of travel charger that you have, slide the plug blade attachment into the power adapter or pull the plug blades down .

4.Plug the power adapter into a power outlet.

Charge the BlackBerry HS-655+ Wireless Headset using an automotive charger

1.Place the BlackBerry?? HS-655+ Wireless Headset in its charging pocket.

2.Connect the smaller end of the automotive charger to the base of the charging pocket.

3.Connect the larger end of the automotive charger to the convenience receptacle in your vehicle.

Charge the BlackBerry HS-655+ Wireless Headset with the BlackBerry Power Station

Note: The only headset that the BlackBerry?? Power Station is compatible with is the BlackBerry?? HS-655+ Wireless Headset.

1.Place the BlackBerry HS-655+ Wireless Headset in its charging pocket.

2.Place the charging pocket in the integrated charging receptacle in the BlackBerry Power Station.

Using the BlackBerry HS-655+ Wireless

Headset

Turn on the BlackBerry HS-655+ Wireless Headset

???Hold the call control button until the indicator light glows blue.

Note: The indicator light will flash blue every 5 seconds when the power is on.

Turn off the BlackBerry HS-655+ Wireless Headset

???Hold the call control button for 6 to 8 seconds until the indicator light glows red.

Pair the BlackBerry HS-655+ Wireless Headset with your BlackBerry device

Depending on the type of BlackBerry?? device that you have, the procedure for pairing the might differ. To find the pairing instructions that are specific to your BlackBerry device, perform the following actions:

1.On the BlackBerry HS-655+ Wireless Headset, hold the call control button for 10 seconds until the status indicator begins to flash red then blue.

Note: The BlackBerry HS-655+ Wireless Headset remains in pairing mode for 120 seconds.

2.On your BlackBerry device, in the device options, click Bluetooth.

3.In the menu, click Help.

4.Follow the instructions for pairing a Bluetooth enabled headset with your BlackBerry device.

Note: If you are prompted to type a passkey when pairing the BlackBerry HS-655+ Wireless Headset with your BlackBerry device, type 0000.

Answer a call

???Briefly press the call control button on the BlackBerry?? HS-655+ Wireless Headset.

End a call

???Briefly press the call control button on the BlackBerry?? HS-655+ Wireless Headset.

Ignore a call

???When receiving a call, hold the call control button on the BlackBerry?? HS-655+ Wireless Headset for 3 seconds.

Adjust the volume

CAUTION: For your comfort, health, and safety, do not exceed moderate listening levels.

???To increase the volume, press the upper end of the volume button.

???To decrease the volume, press the lower end of the volume button.

Mute a call

???To mute a call, press both ends of the volume button simultaneously until you hear a beep.

???To turn off mute, press both ends of the volume button simultaneously until you hear a beep.

Make a call using a voice command

Verify that your BlackBerry?? device uses BlackBerry Device Software Version 4.2 or later and that your device supports voice dialing.

1.Hold the call control button.

2.Say the voice command.
