These choices aside, each model offers a combination of image quality, audio impact, connection versatility and stylish sophistication to create a truly desirable home accessory.

What is Active Vision LCD?

Although it is important for a television to have a high performance LCD panel, it is absolutely essential to have a high performance picture processing system.

The application of Toshiba???s unique Active Vision LCD technology to LCD screens produces a stunning picture by enhancing four essential aspects of a television image:

Detail ??? Active Vision LCD can reproduce 3 times more pixels than a conventional LCD TV

Movement ??? Using Real Speed Progressive technology, Active Vision LCD dramatically reduces jagged edges on lines and detail during fast-moving scenes

Contrast ??? Active Vision LCD automatically adjusts contrast levels to increase picture definition

A plasma screen with high specifications for Contrast Ratio, Brightness Level and Resolution will offer strong images in any lighting environment.

High-definition Multimedia Interface??? is a new industry standard for

connecting high definition components. HDMI??? transmits uncompressed digital video and audio content over a single cable, replacing the multiple cables required with analogue AV connections and ensuring exceptional

8

digital quality. HDMI??? dramatically simplifies home cinema system installation and offers numerous additional benefits including PC compatibility, automatic format adjustment, and automatic configuration of the system to turn on or off the components necessary to view a DVD, listen to a CD or watch cable or satellite TV.

Digital Video Interface

DVI is a new form of video interface technology that maximises the quality of flat panel displays. This is the new standard for connections between high-end displays and DVDs or computers.

DVI provides a fast, high-quality transfer of digital video data. With the previous

'plug and display' connection, digital signals had to be converted to analogue for transfer and re-converted prior to display.

LCD Technology

LCD or Liquid Crystal Display technology uses liquid crystal movement to produce a high resolution with superb contrast, brightness and colour depth in a lightweight, flat panel display.

Clarity and size aren???t the only advantages ??? LCD screens also consume around 40 per cent less power than the cathode ray tube (CRT) in most conventional TVs.
