Installation
Receiver Location
Locate for comfortable viewing. Avoid placing where sunlight or other bright light (including reflections) will fall on the screen. Use of some types of fluorescent lighting can reduce remote control transmitter range.
Adequate ventilation is essential to prevent internal component failure. Keep away from areas of excessive heat or moisture. To ensure optimum picture quality do not position magnetic equipment (motors, fans, other speakers, etc.) nearby.
Optional External Equipment
The Video/Audio connection between components can be made with shielded video and audio cables. For best performance, Antenna cables should utilize 75 ohm coaxial shielded wire. Cables are available from your dealer or electronic supply store. Before you purchase any cables, be sure you know what type of output and input connectors your various components require. Also determine the length of cable you???ll need.

Remote control battery installation
Requires two AAA batteries.
1.Turn the transmitter face down. Remove top cover by pressing down on marking and sliding cover off in the direction indicated.
2.Install the batteries as shown in the battery compartment. (Polarity + or ??? must match the markings in the compartment).
3.Replace the cover and slide in reverse until the lock snaps.
Helpful Hint:
For frequent remote control users, replace old batteries with Alkaline batteries for longer life.

These settings allow you to choose the languages used when a DVD is played.
If the language selected is not available on the disc, the language designated by each disc will be selected. There are cases where the selected language recorded by the disc designates another language.

This feature is used to disable the playing of some DVDs which are unsuitable for some audiences, for example, children.

"4:3 PAN&SCAN": Select when a conventional TV set is connected. Wide video with an aspect ratio like 16:9 is played back on the screen with either both sides or one side cut off.

Setting for dynamic range control
This is for selecting the DVD dynamic range (difference between high and low volume).
??? This setting works only with DVD discs recorded in Dolby digital. STANDARD: Set this to listen with a range equivalent to a
normal television.
MAX RANGE: Set this to listen with the range recorded on the disc.
MIN RANGE: Set this to listen with a smaller difference between the maximum and minimum volume. (When you want a powerful sound even at low volume, or when you wish to moderate high volume, etc.)
Setting volume during fast forward
This sets whether or not to output audio during fast forward (2x speed) of DVDs and video CDs.
ON: Audio is output during fast forward (2x speed).
OFF: Audio is not output during fast forward (2x speed).
???With a music CD, audio is output at all speeds during fast forward and rewind, regardless of this setting.
