How to Use the Joystick Button
You can easily control the functions of the monitor by pressing the joystick button or moving it left/right with your finger.
yy The joystick button is located at the bottom of the monitor.
yy Before turning on the monitor, please make sure that the switch on the rear side of product is On.

yy If you use the monitor panel without the stand base, its joystick button may cause the moni- tor to become unstable and fall, resulting in damage to the monitor or human injury. In addition, this may cause the joystick button to malfunction.
yy When holding the monitor, the screen should face toward you to prevent it from being scratched.
yy When transporting the monitor, do not expose the monitor to shock or excessive vibration.

CAUTION
yy To protect the screen from scratches, cover the surface with a soft cloth.
yy Illustrations in this document represent typi- cal procedures, so they may look different from the actual product.
yy When tightening the screws after mounting the stand base onto the stand hinge, be sure to hold the stand base with your hand. Other- wise, the product may fall, causing personal injury or damage to the product.
yy Applying excessive force when tightening screws may cause damage to the monitor. Damage caused in this way will not be cov- ered by the product warranty.
yy Do not carry the monitor upside down by just holding the base. This may cause the moni- tor to fall off the stand and could result in personal injury.
yy When lifting or moving the monitor, do not touch the monitor screen. The force applied to the monitor screen may cause damage to it.

yy You can disassemble the stand in the reverse order of the assembly.

Installing on a Table
1Lift the monitor and place it on the table in an upright position. Place the monitor at least 10 cm away from the wall to ensure sufficient ventilation.

Adjusting the Stand Height
1Place the monitor mounted on the stand base in an upright position.
2Push the Head downward and pull out the Locking Pin.

3 Handle the monitor with both hands for safety.

3Press the joystick button on the bottom of the monitor to turn on the monitor.

Arrange the cables using the cable holder as shown in the illustration.

yy To avoid scratching the stand base, make sure that when rotating the monitor using the pivot feature, the stand does not make contact with the monitor.
1Raise the monitor to the maximum height.
2Adjust the angle of the monitor in the direction of the arrow as shown in the figure.
4Complete the installation by rotating the moni- tor 90?? as shown below.

yy Take care when rotating the monitor if the cable is connected.
yy To avoid injury when rotating the display, do not place your fingers between the display and the stand base.

Using the Kensington Lock
The Kensington security system connector is located at the back of the Monitor set.
For more information on installation and usage, refer to the Kensington lock owner's manual or visit the website at http://www.kensington.com.
Connect the monitor to a table using the Kensing- ton security system cable.
Detaching the Stand Body
1Place the monitor's screen face down. To protect the screen from scratches, cover the surface with a soft cloth.
2Using a screwdriver, remove the 2 screws and detach the stand from the monitor.
NOTE
yy The Kensington security system is optional. You can obtain optional accessories from most electronics stores.

This monitor meets the specifications for the wall mount plate or other compatible devices.
1Place the screen face down. To protect the screen from scratches, cover the surface with a soft cloth.
2Using a screwdriver, remove the 2 screws and detach the stand from the monitor.
yy The wall mount plate is sold separately.
yy For more information on installation, refer to the wall mount plate's installation guide.
yy Be careful not to apply too much force while mounting the wall mount plate as it may cause damage to the screen.

3Place the wall mount plate onto the monitor and align it with the screw holes.
4Tighten the four screws to fix the plate to the monitor using a screwdriver.

Installing on the Wall
Install the monitor at least 10 cm away from the wall and leave about 10 cm of space at each side of the monitor to ensure sufficient ventilation. De- tailed installation instructions can be obtained from your local retail store. Alternatively, please refer
to the manual for how to install and set up a tilting wall mounting bracket.

To install the monitor to a wall, attach a wall mount- ing bracket (optional) to the back of the monitor. Make sure that the wall mounting bracket is se- curely fixed to the monitor and to the wall.
1If you use screws longer than the standard length, it may damage the inside of the prod- uct.

yy Use the screws specified by VESA standards. yy The wall mount kit includes the installation guide
and all necessary parts.
yy The wall mounting bracket is optional. You can obtain optional accessories from your local dealer.
yy The length of the screw may differ for each wall mounting bracket. Be sure to use the proper length.
yy For more information, please refer to the user manual for the wall mounting bracket.
CAUTION
yy Unplug the power cord before moving or install- ing the monitor to avoid electric shock.
yy Installing the monitor on the ceiling or on a slanted wall may result in the monitor falling off, which could lead to injury. Use an authorized LG wall mount and contact the local dealer or quali- fied personnel.
yy Applying excessive force when tightening screws may cause damage to the monitor. Dam- age caused in this way will not be covered by the product warranty.
yy To prevent injury, this apparatus must be securely attached to the wall in accordance with the instrallation instructions. (This only pertains to Australia and New Zealand.)
yy Use the wall mounting bracket and screws that conform to VESA standards. Damage caused by the use or misuse of inappropriate components will not be covered by the product warranty.
yy When measured from the back of the monitor, the length of each installed screw must be 8 mm or less.

USING THE MONITOR
Press the joystick button, go to Menu ??? Easy con- trol ??? Input, and then select the input option.
CAUTION
yy Do not press the screen for a prolonged time. This may cause image distortion.
yy Do not display a still image on the screen for a prolonged time. This may cause image retention. Use a screensaver if possible.
Connecting to a PC
yy This monitor supports the *Plug and Play fea- ture.
*Plug and Play: A feature that allows you to add a device to your computer without having to recon- figure anything or install any manual drivers.
HDMI Connection
Transmits digital video and audio signals from your PC to the monitor. Connect your PC to the monitor using the HDMI cable as shown in the illustration below.

yy When connecting the power cord to the out- let, use a grounded
yy The monitor may flicker when turned on in an area where the temperature is low. This is normal.
yy Sometimes red, green or blue spots may ap- pear on the screen. This is normal.

yy Connecting your PC to the monitor using the HDMI cable may cause device compatibility issues.

(Mini) DisplayPort Connection
Transmits digital video and audio signals from your PC to the monitor. Connect the monitor to your PC using the displayport cable as shown in the illustra- tion below:

HDMI Connection
HDMI transmits digital video and audio signals from your AV device to the monitor. Connect your AV device to the monitor using the HDMI cable as shown in the illustration below.

yy Make sure to use the supplied HDMI cable of the product. Otherwise, this may cause the device to malfunction.

Cautions When Using a USB Device
yy A USB device with an automatic recognition program installed, or that uses its own driver, may not be recognized.
yy Some USB devices may not be supported or may not work properly.
yy It is recommended to use a USB hub or hard disk drive with power supplied. (If the power supply is not adequate, the USB device may not be recognized properly.)
Connecting Headphones
Connect peripherals to the monitor via the head- phones port. Connect as illustrated.

yy Peripheral devices are sold separately.
yy If you use Angled earphones, it may cause a problem with connecting another external device to the monitor. Therefore, it is recom- mended to use Straight earphones.
yy Depending on the audio settings of the PC and external device, headphones and speaker functions may be limited.

INSTALLING THE LG MONITOR SOFTWARE
Insert the software CD included in the product packaging into your PC's CD drive and install the LG Monitor Software.
The installation screen images are for reference only. The actual installation screen images may vary de- pending on the model.

2Click LG Monitor Software on the CD's main screen. When the file download window ap- pears, click Run. (Although the screen below may differ depending on your operating sys- tem or Internet Explorer version, the installa- tion methods are the same.)

CAUTION
yy Windows 7 must be updated to Service Pack 1 or higher.
Check the I accept the terms of the agree-
ment checkbox on the License Agreement screen and then click the Next button.
Select the program that you want to install.

yy Screen Split This program automatically splits the program window as desired.
yy True Color Pro This program calibrates the precise color output of the monitor to suit your needs.
6The LG Monitor Software starts the installation as shown below:
7If the TUSB3410 driver has not been installed, the driver will be installed automatically. Select
Install this driver software anyway (I) if the Windows security message is displayed as be- low.
8The program you selected on the Select Fea- tures page will install automatically.

yy When you run the True Color Pro software, the True Color Pro icon [] appears in the system tray at the right bottom of the PC screen.

yy To use the True Color Pro function, you must purchase the supported calibrator.

yy If you have changed the input port, it is recom- mend that you calibrate the monitor's picture quality again.

icon [] appears in the system tray at the bottom right of the PC screen.

CAUTION
yy Once you have completed the monitor calibra- tion with the True Color Pro software, remove the calibrator from the monitor and store it at room temperature away from direct sunlight or put it in the box.
-If the calibrator's measuring part is exposed to direct sunlight for a long time, this may cause damage to the calibrator.
-Do not store it in an environment with too low/high temperature and high humidity.

yy If the selected resolution is HDMI 1080i 60/50 Hz (interlaced), the screen may be flickering. Change the resolution to 1080P or the recommended resolution.
NOTE
yy Vertical Frequency: In order to display an image, the screen must be refreshed dozens of times per second, like a fluorescent lamp. The number of times the screen is refreshed per second is called vertical frequency, or refresh rate, and is represented by Hz.
yy Horizontal Frequency: The time it takes to display one horizontal line is called the horizontal cycle. If 1 is divided by the horizontal interval, the result is the number of horizontal lines displayed per second. This is called horizontal frequency and is represented by Hz.

NOTE
yy Check if the video card's resolution or frequency is within the range allowed by the monitor and set it to the recommended (optimal) resolution in Control Panel > Display > Settings.
yy Not setting the video card to the recommended (optimal) resolution may result in blurred text, a dimmed screen, a truncated display area or misalignment of the display.
yy The setting methods may be different depending on the computer or operating system, and some reso- lutions may not be available depending on the performance of the video card. If this is the case, contact the manufacturer of the computer or video card for assistance.
yy Some video cards may not support 4096 x 2160 / 3840 x 2160 resolution. If the resolution cannot be displayed, contact the manufacturer of your video card.
The display color is abnormal.
No sound from the headphone port.

Are images displayed using (Mini) DisplayPort or HDMI input without sound?
yy Make sure that the headphone port connections are made properly. yy Try increasing the volume with the joystick.
yy Set the audio output of the PC to the monitor you are using: On Microsoft Windows, go to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Sound > set the monitor as default device.
