Instructions for Use

This plug will fit in an outlet only one way. If it does not fit, contact a qualified electrician to install the proper outlet. Do not modify the plug in any way.

Getting Started

PITCHER WITH FILTER

1.Wash the lid, reservoir, and pitcher with mild soapy water. Do not use any abrasive cleaners. Replace the reservoir back in the water system.

2.Wash your hands in soap and water.

3.Remove the filter from the protective wrapper. Some moisture and black carbon dust inside is normal.

4.Rinse the filter under tap water for a few seconds.

5.Immerse filter in water for 15 minutes then shake back and forth to remove air bubbles. (fig. 1)

6.Wipe the filter and reservoir clean to ensure carbon dust will not prevent a proper seal.

7.Place the filter in the reservoir and press down until it is firmly seated. (fig. 2)

8.Move the valve on the handle down to the FILL position. (fig. 3)

9.Fill the reservoir to the 4 cup fill line with cool tap water and let the water flow through the filter into the pitcher body.

10.Repeat step 9 to fill to the 8 cup capacity.

11.Discard the first two pitchers of filtered water or use for plants. It is normal for carbon dust to appear in your first fillings.

ADAPTER

1. The adapter operates using one lithium CR2032 battery (pre-installed). There is a plastic strip under the lithium battery to prevent battery drain in shipping. Remove the strip before continuing to the operating instructions.

Operating Instructions

1.Move the valve on the handle down to the FILL position. (fig. 3)

2.Fill the reservoir as shown to the fill line with cool tap water. (fig. 4).

Note - The maximum capacity of the PITCHER BODY is 8 cups. Use the fill lines in the RESERVOIR & the fill lines on the PITCHER BODY to ensure you do not exceed the maximum 8 Cup capacity.

3.Allow the water to flow though the filter into the pitcher.

4.Replace the lid. Ensure the spout lid is in the closed position.

5.Extend the retractable cable and plug the adapter into an outlet.

6.Plug the adapter cable into the water system. (fig. 5)

7.Slide the valve up to the PURIFY position. This will prevent tap water from coming into contact with UV purified water.

8.Press the PURIFY button on the adapter. (fig. 6)??? The UV light will activate for the required time to clean your water. Time will be approximately one minute. If the PURIFY lights blinks, your water has not been fully purified. Do not drink the water yet. See the Troubleshooting section.

Note - The bulb may illuminate with a pink hue, changing to blue as the purification cycle continues. This is acceptable and does not affect performance.

9.After the PURIFY light is off, unplug adapter from system and retract cord.

Note - You may leave the adapter plugged in the AC???outlet with the cord retracted or store in a drawer for the next use.

10.Your water is ready to drink. Additional uses include cooking, coffee, tea, juice, baby formula, ice, pet bowls and more.

Note - You may store the pitcher in the refrigerator. Re-purify water if it sits out for more than 2 days.

Purify

This feature activates a UV light to purify your water.

???To purify your water, press the PURIFY button.If the

PURIFY light blinks, see the Troubleshooting section.

Automatic Filter Alert

This feature alerts you when it is time to replace your filter.

If the replace filter indicator is illuminated.

???Replace the filter with a new one. See the Getting

Started section for detailed instructions.

???Press and hold the replace filter indicator button until the indicator resets.

The REPLACE FILTER notification will vary based on the CUPS PER DAY setting. It is recommended to set this setting as accurately as possible to obtain maximum filter life.

Cups per day

This feature provides you with a more accurate filter life measurement by allowing you to set your daily consumption level.

???Select the proper number of cups per day by pushing the CUPS PER DAY button until the desired usage is selected.

?????? For your reference in setting your consumption level a full pitcher capacity is 8 cups.

???If your consumption changes you can change the setting at any time and the filter life will automatically adjust.

???A filter will last approximately 2 months with average household use.

NOTE: For maximum efficiency do not purify more than 2 gallons per day.

???Pour out water.

???To ensure that the UV lamp assembly introduces the proper dose of Ultraviolet light into the water the lamps protective outer quartz sleeve is to be cleaned once each month by wiping it with white vinegar and then rinsing. (fig. 7)

???Unplug adapter and wipe with a moist cloth. Dry before use.

???Hand wash all parts, except the adapter, with mild dish soap before use or after storing for an extended period of time.

???Do not use abrasive cleaners or scrubbers.

???Your Restore??? Water System is not dishwasher safe.

To Store

???Follow cleaning instructions above.

???Unplug the adapter from the outlet.

???Retract adapter power cable.

???Dry all standing water.

???Store in original box.

Troubleshooting

The UV will not activate

Please make sure the following steps have been taken:

???The valve is in the PURIFY position.

???The Adapter is plugged into a functional 3 pronged outlet.

???The Adapter cord is firmly seated in the pitcher base.

???The reservoir and lid must be installed and firmly seated.

???The Adapter battery is installed correctly. See adapter battery door for instructions.

???Once the above steps have been taken, press and hold the

PURIFY button on the Adapter

The REPLACE FILTER indicator is blinking

In this condition the filter timer has expired indicating the filter should be replaced.

???First follow steps to replace the filter in the Getting Started section.

???To reset the timer, and turn off the blinking indication, hold the button down for 5 seconds.

???The timer now begins the timing duration prescribed by the programmed Cups per Day setting. See the User Interface section for setting the Cups per Day.

HoMedics sells its products with the intent that they are free of defects in manufacture and workmanship for a period of three years from the date of original purchase, except as noted below. HoMedics warrants that its products will be free of defects in material and workmanship under normal use and service. This warranty extends only to consumers and does not extend to Retailers.

Instrucciones para el uso

Este enchufe calzar?? en el tomacorriente en un solo sentido. Si no calza, p??ngase en contacto con un electricista calificado para instalar un tomacorriente adecuado. No cambie el enchufe de ning??n modo.

Para Empezar

JARRA CON FILTRO

1.Lave la tapa, el dep??sito y la jarra con agua jabonosa suave. NO use ning??n limpiador abrasivo. Vuelva a colocar el dep??sito en el sistema de agua.

2.L??vese las manos con agua y jab??n.

3.Retire el filtro de la envoltura protectora. Es normal que haya un poco de humedad y polvo de carb??n negro adentro.

4.Enjuague el filtro bajo el agua del grifo por unos segundos.

5.Sumerja el filtro en agua durante 15 minutos, luego sac??dalo para eliminar las burbujas de aire. (fig. 1)

6.Limpie el filtro y el dep??sito para asegurar que el polvo de carb??n no impida el sello apropiado.

7.Coloque el filtro en el dep??sito y presione hasta que quede firmemente asentado. (fig. 2)

8.Mueva hacia abajo la v??lvula del mango, a la posici??n FILL (LLENAR). (fig. 3)

9.Llene el dep??sito a la l??nea de llenado para 4 tazas con agua del grifo fr??a y deje que el agua pase por el filtro, en el cuerpo de la jarra.

10.Repita el paso 9 para llenar a la capacidad de 8 tazas.

11.Deseche las dos primeras jarras de agua filtrada o ??selas para las plantas. Es normal que aparezca el polvo de carb??n en las primeras llenadas.

ADAPTADOR

1. El adaptador funciona con una bater??a de litio CR2032 (preinstalada). Hay una tira de pl??stico bajo la tapa de la bater??a de litio, para evitar que la bater??a se agote durante el env??o. Quite la tira antes de seguir con las instrucciones de funcionamiento.

Instrucciones de funcionamiento

1.Mueva hacia abajo la v??lvula del mango, a la posici??n FILL (LLENAR). (fig. 3)

2.Llene el dep??sito como se indica, hasta la l??nea de llenado, con agua fr??a del grifo. (fig. 4)

Nota - la capacidad m??xima del CUERPO DE LA JARRA es de 8 tazas. Use las l??neas de llenado en el DEP??SITO y las l??neas de llenado en el CUERPO DE LA JARRA para asegurar que usted no exceda la capacidad m??xima de 8 tazas.

3.Permita que el agua fluya por el filtro en la jarra.

4.Vuelva a colocar la tapa. Aseg??rese de que la tapa del pico est?? en la posici??n de cerrado.

5.Extienda el cable retr??ctil y enchufe el adaptador en un tomacorriente.

6.Enchufe el cable del adaptador en el sistema de agua. (fig. 5)

7.Deslice la v??lvula hasta la posici??n PURIFY (PURIFICAR).

Esto impedir?? que el agua del grifo entre en contacto con el agua purificada por UV.

8. Presione el bot??n PURIFY del adaptador. (fig. 6) La luz UV se activar?? por el tiempo necesario para limpiar el agua. El tiempo ser?? de aproximadamente un minuto. Si las luces PURIFY parpadean, agua no ha sido totalmente purificada. No beba el agua todav??a. Ver la secci??n de Soluci??n de problemas.

Nota - la bombilla puede iluminarse con un matiz rosado, cambiando a azul mientras el ciclo de purificaci??n sigue. Esto es aceptable y no afecta el rendimiento.

9.Despu??s de que la luz PURIFY quede apagada, desenchufe el adaptador del sistema y retraiga la cuerda.

Nota - Usted puede dejar el adaptador enchufado en

el tomacorriente a.c. con la cuerda retra??da, o gu??rdelo en un caj??n para el siguiente uso.

10.Su agua est?? lista para beber. Usos adicionales incluyen cocinar, preparar caf??, t??, zumo, f??rmula para beb??s, hielo, taz??n de mascotas y m??s.

Nota - Usted puede guardar la jarra en el refrigerador. Purifique de nuevo el agua si la guarda por m??s de 2 d??as, y esto no afecta

el rendimiento.

Ajustes del Usuario

Purificar

Esta funci??n activa una luz UV, para purificar el agua.

???Para purificar el agua, presione el bot??n PURIFY.

Si la luz PURIFY parpadea, ver la secci??n de Soluci??n de problemas.

Alarma Autom??tica del Filtro

Esta funci??n le alerta cuando es tiempo de sustituir su filtro.

Si el indicador de sustituci??n del filtro est?? iluminado.

???Reemplace el filtro por uno nuevo. Ver la secci??n Para

Empezar, por instrucciones detalladas.

???Presione y sostenga el bot??n del indicador de sustituci??n del filtro, hasta que el indicador vuelva a inicializarse.

Precauci??n: El Sistema de Agua Restore??? no es compatible con el lavavajillas.

Mantenimiento

Para limpiar

???Vierta el agua.

???Para asegurar que el conjunto de la l??mpara UV introduzca la dosis apropiada de luz ultravioleta en el agua, la manga externa protectora de cuarzo de la l??mpara debe limpiarse una vez cada mes, con vinagre blanco y luego debe enjuagarse. (fig. 7)

???Desenchufe el adaptador y l??mpielo con un pa??o h??medo.

Seque antes del uso.

???Lave a mano todas las partes, excepto el adaptador, con el jab??n de platos suave, antes del uso o despu??s de almacenar el aparato durante un largo per??odo de tiempo.

???No use limpiadores o depuradores abrasivos.

???Su Sistema de Agua Restore??? no es compatible con

el lavavajillas.

Esta funci??n le provee una medida de la vida del filtro m??s exacta, permiti??ndole ingresar su nivel de consumo diario.

???Seleccione el n??mero apropiado de tazas por d??a presionando el bot??n CUPS PER DAY hasta que el uso deseado quede seleccionado.

???Por su referencia en el ajuste de su nivel de consumo, la capacidad de la jarra llena es de 8 tazas.

???Si su consumo cambia, usted puede cambiar el ajuste en cualquier momento y la vida del filtro se adaptar?? autom??ticamente.

???Un filtro dura aproximadamente 2 meses con el uso dom??stico medio.

NOTA: Para una eficacia m??xima, no purifique m??s de 2 galones por d??a.

Precauci??n: Todo antenimiento de este sistema de agua debe ser realizado s??lo por personal autorizado de HoMedics.

Para almacenar

???Sigua las instrucciones de limpieza de arriba.

???Desenchufe el adaptador del tomacorriente.

Resoluci??n de problemas

La luz UV no se activa

Por favor, aseg??rese que se han tomado los pasos siguientes:

???La v??lvula est?? en la posici??n PURIFY.

???El adaptador est?? enchufado en un tomacorriente funcional de 3 clavijas.

???El cable del adaptador est?? firmemente asentado en la base de la jarra.

???El dep??sito y la tapa deben estar instalados y firmemente asentados.

???La bater??a del adaptador est?? instalada correctamente. Ver la puerta de la bater??a del adaptador, para las instrucciones.

???Una vez que los pasos de arriba han sido tomados, presione y sostenga el bot??n PURIFY del adaptador

El indicador REPLACE FILTER parpadea

En esta condici??n, el temporizador del filtro se ha vencido, indicando que el filtro debe ser sustituido.

???Primero siga los pasos para sustituir el filtro en la secci??n

Para Empezar.

???Para reinicializar el temporizador, y apagar la indicaci??n de parpadeo, sostenga el bot??n durante 5 segundos.

???El temporizador ahora comienza la duraci??n prescrita para

Cups per Day (Tazas por d??a) programadas seg??n el ajuste. Ver la secci??n de Interfaz del Usuario para poner las Tazas por D??a.
