WORK AREA

1.Keep your work area clean and well lit. Cluttered benches and dark areas invite accidents.

2.Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the pres- ence of flammable liquids, gases, or dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes.

3.Keep bystanders, children, and visitors away while operating this product.

Distractions can cause you to lose control.

PERSONAL SAFETY

1.Stay alert. Watch what you are doing, and use common sense when oper- ating this product. Do not use this product while tired or under the influ- ence of drugs, alcohol, or medication. A moment of inattention while operat- ing this product may result in serious personal injury.

2.Wear eye protection. Wear ANSI approved safety impact goggles when assem- bling this product.

TOOL USE AND CARE

1.Do not force this product. Use the correct product for your application. The correct product will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it is designed.

2.Do not use the Laser Guided Parking System if it does not automatically turn on or off. Any laser product that cannot be controlled is dangerous and must be replaced.

3.Store idle tools and equipment out of reach of children and other untrained persons. Tools and equipment are dangerous in the hands of untrained users.

4.Maintain this product with care. Properly maintained tools and equipment are less likely to malfunction and are easier to control. Do not use damaged tools and equipment. Tag damaged tools and equipment ???Do not use??? until repaired.

5.Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts, and any other condition that may affect the tool???s operation. If damaged, have the tool serviced before using. Many accidents are caused by poorly main- tained tools.

6.Use only accessories that are recommended by the manufacturer for your model. Accessories that may be suitable for one product may become hazard- ous when used on another product.

SERVICE

1.Tool service must be performed only by qualified repair personnel. Service or maintenance performed by unqualified personnel could result in a risk of injury.

2.When servicing a tool, use only identical replacement parts. Follow instructions in the ???Inspection, Maintenance, And Cleaning??? section of this manual. Use of unauthorized parts or failure to follow maintenance instructions may create a risk of electric shock or injury.

SPECIFIC SAFETY RULES AND PRECAUTIONS

1.Do not attempt to alter the Laser Guided Parking System or replace its parts with different parts. Doing so may result in hazardous radiation exposure.

2.Make sure the Laser Guided Parking System automatically shuts off prior to leaving the parking area.

3.Do not use the Laser Guided Parking System if it has been dropped, dam- aged, or immersed in liquid.

4.Maintain labels and nameplates on the Laser Guided Parking System.

These carry important information. If unreadable or missing, contact Harbor Freight Tools for a replacement.

5.Industrial applications must follow OSHA guidelines.

6.Do not allow children and other unauthorized people to handle or play with the Laser Guided Parking System.

7.Use the product for the job. Do not attempt to force small tools and equip- ment to do the work of larger industrial tools and equipment. There are certain applications for which this product was designed. It will do the job better and more safely at the rate for which it was intended. Do not modify this product, and do not use this product for a purpose for which it was not intended.

8.Store idle tools and equipment. When not in use, the Laser Guided Parking System must be stored in a dry location to inhibit rust. Always lock up the prod- uct and keep out of reach of children and other unauthorized people.

9.Do not operate this product if under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Read warning labels if taking prescription medicine to determine if your judgement or reflexes are impaired while taking drugs. If there is any doubt, do not operate the Laser Guided Parking System.

10.WARNING! People with pacemakers should consult their physician(s) before using this product. Electromagnetic fields in close proximity to a heart pacemaker could cause interference to or failure of the pacemaker.

11.WARNING! The warnings and precautions discussed in this manual cannot cover all possible conditions and situations that may occur. It must be under- stood by the operator that common sense and caution are factors which cannot be built into this product, but must be supplied by the operator.

UNPACKING

When unpacking, check to make sure all the parts shown on the Parts List on page 8 are included. If any parts are missing or broken, please call Harbor Freight Tools at the number shown on the cover of this manual as soon as possible.

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS

1.NOTE: Prior to installation, all surfaces must be flat and free of any oil, dirt, and debris.

2.Open the garage door, and park your vehicle(s) outside.

3.Unplug the overhead garage door opener from its electrical outlet. Remove the light bulb cover. Then, unscrew and remove the light bulb.

4.Screw the AC Adapter with Pull Chain (5) into the light bulb socket.

5.Plug the Power Pack (4) into the AC Adapter with Pull Chain (5).

5.Screw the light bulb into the AC Adapter with Pull Chain (5). Then replace the light bulb cover on the garage door opener, making sure the light bulb cover does not touch the light bulb.

6.To attach the first Swivel Mount (1), peel off its protective paper backing and press the Swivel Mount firmly against the top/forward side of the garage door light bulb cover on the driver???s side (as far as possible from the garage door).

7.For a second vehicle, attach the second Swivel Mount (1) to the opposite top corner of the light bulb cover (as far as possible from the garage door).

8.Plug the Cables (2) into the Power Pack???s (4) Connectors.

9.Plug the garage door opener into its electrical outlet. Then, pull the Chain on the AC Adapter with Pull Chain (5) to the ???ON??? position to turn on the Light Bulb Socket on the AC Adapter. The outlets on the adapter are powered whenever the unit is attached to power.

10.Drive your vehicle(s) into the garage to the location(s) you will typically park each time.

11.Activate the garage door opener, and the Laser Guided Parking System will emit a bright, laser light beam. Adjust the Swivel Mount(s) so that the beams point to a location on the dash or hood of the vehicle that you can easily see while driving.

NOTE: The Laser Guided Parking System will automatically shut off after about 3 minutes. If necessary, reactivate the garage door opener until you have finished adjusting the laser light beams.

12.Sit in the driver???s seat to make sure you can easily see the laser light beam on the dash or hood of the vehicle(s). If necessary, readjust the laser light beams.

This is now your point of reference for parking in the same location every time.

13.NOTE: If attaching the Swivel Mounts (1) to the ceiling of the garage, you may need to install the Swivel Mounts farther forward to ensure the laser light beam can be seen on the driver???s side dashboard when the vehicle is parked. To install the Swivel Mounts on the ceiling, use the two Ceiling Mounting Screws (3) pro- vided.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

1.Open the garage door using the automatic garage door opener and drive in slowly.

2.The laser light beam will move toward you across the vehicle???s hood as you drive into the garage.

3.Stop and park when the laser light beam reaches the location on the vehicle you previously selected (hood, dashboard, etc.).

4.The Laser Guided Parking System is automatically activated by your garage door opener. The laser beam(s) will automatically deactivate when the garage door opener light turns off (typically after about 3 minutes).

TROUBLESHOOTING

INSPECTION, MAINTENANCE, AND CLEANING

1. WARNING! Make sure the Laser Guided Parking System is unplugged from its electrical outlet prior to performing any inspection, maintenance, or cleaning of the machine.

2.Daily, inspect the general condition of the Laser Parking System. Check for loose screws, misalignment or binding of moving parts, cracked or broken parts, damaged electrical wiring, and any other condition that may affect the safe op- eration of this product. If abnormal noise occurs, have the problem corrected

by a qualified service technician before further use.

Do not use damaged equipment.

5.To clean, use a clean cloth with a mild detergent. Do not immerse in liquid.

6. CAUTION! All maintenance, service, or repairs not mentioned in this manual must only be performed by a qualified service technician.
