Tether Anchor Installation
A tether strap is required only when using the car seat in
If your vehicle was manufactured in or after 1999, you may already have a factory installed tether anchor. Refer to your vehicle owner???s manual for tether anchor locations in your vehicle.
For most vehicles manufactured between 1985 and 1999, you must contact your vehicle dealer to obtain a tether anchor kit that is specifically designed to fit your vehicle. Vehicle manufacturers will provide tether anchor kits and in many cases, free installation of a tether anchor.
If your vehicle was manufactured before 1985 or a tether anchor kit is not available for your particular vehicle, use the universal tether anchor kit pro- vided with this car seat. Before installing the tether anchor, install the car seat in the desired location and check to be sure that the vehicle seat belt system holds the car seat securely.
